Why not directly from the producer?
The control program from the engine is saved on a chip (EEProm) and can basically not be changed. Therefore the producer is developing a vehicle for the global market and has to consider several conditions.
Inherent for example fuel quality, emission development, an overdraft of service intervals and naturally financial reasons for example car insurance. -
Do I have to get a MOT approval for it?
Principally every uprating has to be approved, if it's an increase of more than 5%. Otherwise the general operating licence and the insurance coverage will expire.
-
How much is it to get the changes registered?
The complete registration is about 150 EUR.
-
Will I have to pay more for my insurance/tax?
Usually the insurance stays the same, because cars are not classified by HP but car type.
There is no change of the pollutant so the tax won't change either. -
Do the changes become visible from the outside?
No. Provided the work get's done professionally, obviously the performance is measurable on a test-station.
-
Does my vehicle get tuned over diagnose?
It depends on your vehicle and control unit, if your control unit has got a so called Flash-Eprom, it is suitable.
-
Can the tuning be returned over diagnose?
Yes. Inspite of all our competitors we can of course. If you can programm a vehicle, obviously you can reverse it.
-
How safe is diagnose programming?
It's the safest way to programm a car at the moment, because there is no need to solder. Of course electric piles have to be obeyed, for example +12 volt impressed voltage.
-
Does the vehicle run hotter than before?
The oil temperature increases between 2 and 5 degrees.
-
Is the lifespan of the vehicle shorter after modification?
The modification is adjusted, so no limits of the vehicle, respectively of the engine and all components belonging to it will exceed. At a normal way of driving there won't be higher risk of wearout.
-
Are there any particularities with an automatic car?
No. Apart from that automatic vehicles have got two control units, there is no difference in the modification. The automatic adjusts itself.
